Sewer Line Replacement in Greensboro & Summerfield, NC

Slow drains, gurgling toilets, a sewage smell in the yard, or a backup that keeps coming back? Those are classic signs of a damaged sewer line. Custom Electric and Plumbing takes a look at what is actually going on, explains your options in plain language, and replaces the line when that is the right fix.

Signs Your Sewer Line May Need Replacing

  • Drains that back up again after being cleared
  • Gurgling toilets or drains, or several fixtures draining slowly at once
  • Sewage odors in the house or yard
  • Unusually green, soggy, or sunken spots in the yard
  • Cracks, settling, or foundation concerns near the line
  • Mature trees close to the line (roots are a common cause)

Why Sewer Lines Fail in the Triad

Many Greensboro-area homes, especially in older neighborhoods, were built with clay, cast iron, or fiber (Orangeburg) sewer pipe. Over the years those materials can crack, collapse, sag, or let roots work their way in through the joints. Once that damage is there, repeated drain cleaning usually only buys time.

Sewer Camera Inspection

Before we recommend replacing anything, we can run a camera through your line. It shows us the pipe material, cracks, root intrusion, sags, and breaks, so you are not guessing and we are not either. If the camera shows a problem a repair can handle, we will tell you that too.

How It Works

  1. Call or send the form. Tell us what you are seeing.
  2. We look at it on site, including a camera inspection of the line so we can see what is actually happening underground.
  3. You get a clear written estimate, with the work explained so you know what you are paying for. Estimates are subject to on-site inspection.
  4. We schedule and complete the replacement, and handle permits where the job requires them.
  5. We check the work and walk you through it before we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

A clog usually affects one fixture. If several drains are slow at once, backups keep returning, or you notice odors or wet spots outside, the main line is a more likely suspect. A camera inspection lets us see the line and know for sure.

Sometimes a localized repair is enough, and when it is, we will tell you. If the pipe is damaged in several places or failing along its length, replacement is usually the longer-lasting answer.

Depending on the job, a permit may be required. We will tell you up front and handle what the work requires.

Every property is different. Depth, length, access, and the condition of the existing line all matter. We give you a written estimate after an on-site inspection, with no obligation. Estimates are subject to on-site inspection.
